English language requirements
You’ll need to meet our minimum English language requirements in order to study an undergraduate degree with us.
You can do this through any one of the following:
- ATAR English/English Literature/English as a Second Language (EASL), scaled score of 50**
- English General Grade A
- STAT Written English, score of 140
- English General Grade B (portfolio entry only)
- Completing a UniReady or Indigenous Enabling Program
- Completing both Fundamentals of Academic Writing and Foundations of Communication Curtin UniReady units, or equivalent
- A qualification on our accepted English qualifications page.
** If you did not achieve a scaled score of 50 in ATAR English/English Literature/EASL, then a combined course score, a moderated school assessment, or exam mark of at least 55 or a letter grade of A, B or C in ATAR English, English Literature, or EASL will meet Curtin’s English requirement.
Please note some courses have specific English requirements or require a higher score in an approved English language proficiency test. See courses with higher English requirements for more details.
You can demonstrate your English skills through recognised tests and qualifications, including the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign language (TOEFL), and accepted secondary or tertiary qualifications.
